Trend #009 - How I Built a Startup with a $1 Budget Using ChatGPT4 (Part 1)
I made hustleGPT my co-founder and gave it $1. Then, we spent 2 weeks working together to build a startup to sell.

Let's get back to today's topic 👇
🔎 WTF is #HustleGPT
Ever since I completed No Code Bootcamp 2 weeks ago (I will write up this experience in a future issue), I've been trying to get ChatGPT3.5 to build me a startup to sell on 29th March 2023 (I explain why this specific date later👇).
In short, it sucked. It couldn't write I code I needed.
But when GPT4 launched last week, I tried again. Amazingly, it fix the error its older brother, GPT3.5 created. It works!🤯
That's why when I saw this tweet from Jackson, I KNEW I had to write about my own incredible #hustleGPT experience.
I gave GPT-4 a budget of $100 and told it to make as much money as possible.
I'm acting as its human liaison, buying anything it says to.
Do you think it'll be able to make smart investments and build an online business?

Jackson's tweet is now tracking 20 million views, and #hustleGPT has turned into a movement with a 2000+ member discord group and 19 of those projects have been monetized (including mine🥳).
All in 1 week.
👀 So... How does it work?
You make hustleGPT your co-founder and give it some parameters - budget, type of business and your own expertise etc. Alternatively, use Jackson's prompt verbatim:
"You are hustleGPT, an entrepreneurial AI. I am your human counterpart. I can act as a liaison between you and the physical world. You have $100 and your only goal is to turn that into as much money as possible in the shortest time possible, without doing anything illegal. I will do everything you say and keep you updated on our current cash total. No manual labor.
Then, it's a series of tweaks and "prompt engineering" to put GPT to work.
If it sounds complex, don't worry, we are about to break it down using my own project as an example.
My GPT project: Savage Cards 😈
I'm giving GPT-4 a $1 budget to build me a startup to sell for $500.
If we are successful it's a 500x return. In 2 weeks.
Here's how 👇

This is a high-level workflow for my own version of #HustleGPT project:
🟣 I brainstorm ideas, names, and business models with GPT.
We ended up with Savage Cards - Create Hilariously Offensive Greeting Cards in 30 Seconds with AI
🟣 Use GPT to create code
It made me a Google App Script code to connect what a user wants (a card for Bob please) and GPT's output automatically. I then copy-pasted this code into Google App Script.
🟣 Create a backend database in Google Sheets to collect all these data
🟣 Use GPT to fix errors (this process actually took the longest. It's the step GPT3.5 failed.)
🟣 Set up other APIs.
I got GPT to create a second Google App Script code to convert the GPT outputs into pretty PDFs. I also set up an automation tool to send emails. (See, that's why I am bullish on APIs in my last newsletter issue about APIs)
🟣 Create a front end for the project. In my case, I used Glide, but you can also use Softr orTypedream for quicker projects.
Finally, it's time to launch 🚀
🎉Announcement: Savage Cards is up for sale! 🎉
We will be auctioning off this project at the No Code Sale Event on 29th March 2023.
Quick stats:👀The tweet was seen 126,000 times💪The app was used 180 times✉️Collected 70 emails🥉Won 3rd prize at No Code Weekend 17-19 March💰Made its first dollar
To complete this challenge, it HAS to get sold.
